Paste the storefront URL into our detector above. We read the inline Shopify.theme metadata that every standard Shopify store exposes in its HTML and match the theme_store_id against the full Shopify Theme Store catalog to identify the theme, its publisher, and a link to its Theme Store page.

Yes. No signup, no paywall, no credit card. Detection is rate-limited per IP to keep the service healthy, but well within what any normal research session would need.

Partially. If the store still exposes the standard Shopify.theme block, we will surface the theme name and version even when it is not in the Shopify Theme Store. In that case the result is flagged as a custom theme and the Theme Store link is omitted.

Headless Shopify storefronts (Hydrogen, custom Next.js storefronts, etc.) do not render a traditional Shopify theme, so there is no Shopify.theme block to read. The detector confirms it is a Shopify-powered storefront when possible, but cannot name a theme that does not exist.

Most commonly: the store is password-protected, runs a headless storefront, or the developer stripped the Shopify.theme inline block. Less commonly the homepage is served with a non-standard cache that hides the metadata. Try a deep link to a product or collection page if the homepage fails.
